“ This place has the best meatball subs and such a fun atmosphere! Definitely give it a try if you are in the area. ”
“ In recent years, it is extremely rare when I award any business, let alone a restaurant, with 5 stars. In 1984, when I arrived in Atlanta, it was difficult to select a bad restaurant. Today, it's just as unlikely to find any decent place to eat. The Mad Italian has weathered the economic and societal storms for these many decades to remain as uncompromisingly true to their established roots as a restaurant can possibly be, especially considering all the hindering circumstances. The Mad Italian is one of the few, tried and true restaurants remaining in my small arsenal of dining establishments worth frequenting. It is always a pleasure to go there. The Mad 'I' is well managed, dedicated to consistency and quality. The Mad Italian experience is thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. The servers and the kitchen staff are well-trained. This is readily apparent during every visit. Go to practically any restaurant today and notice how slipshod the food quality, service and attention to details are. It's at that point, the value of a Mad Italian dining experience becomes clear. My favorites are the veggie hoagie and the chicken cheesesteak. Give me a mound of chips with plenty of that good ol' creamy "I". I am a pragmatist, however. There is always room for process improvement. In an acoustic environment that can easily go from reasonable to raucous very quickly, I would can the live music. The onion rings at Mad Italian are a compliment to any meal, but an effort should be made to make them less greasy. Find a way to preserve the firmness of the pickles. And, if I am honest, I must admit that the hoagie rolls, (while still outstanding) don't quite match up to the quality they were decades ago. Everything changes but, as far as The Mad Italian goes, not too drastically or prohibitively. I am very appreciative to have, at least, one reliable and gratifying restaurant I look forward to visiting. Thank you, Mad Italian. ”
“ Food, Service and Atmosphere was great. Would definitely visit again if I was in the area and recommend to others for a casual Italian meal at a reasonable price. Daughter & I split the 8" Philly Cheesesteak, it had plenty of meat and the bread was delicious and it was a definite hit with both of us. The restaurant split for us and brought on separate plates with our own pickle and chips without us asking which was a definite plus and greatly appreciated. Chips were not homemade but we're not your standard Ruffles and we're so good as was the pickle. Granddaughter bragged on the pizza and ate it all up. ”
“ Service Food Prosecco on tap This place did not disappoint. We had a group of 11, they got us in right away. The service was great. The food was fast and amazing. They didn't mind doing individual checks and didn't charge extra for it. The bathrooms were clean. They had ample parking. I have zero complaints. Will definitely go back. ”
“ I love love love the Philly cheesesteak here! Have you ever gone to a restaurant and the food looked and smelled so good that you forget to take a picture? Well that's me every time I eat here! I found them at the Atlanta Brunch Fest last year and still can't get enough! I really do have to try other menu items! Or do I! ”
“ I love their tuna sandwich. Fully loaded, over stuffed; needed a fork to eat it all. The service is extremely quick too. The ambiance is casual like a Chili's. If you need to wait for traffic to die down in the area, this is a great stop. ”
“ Nice quaint place that does not look much, but is pretty cosy. A buddy of mine and me were getting our cars washed and wanted to get a quick beer. This was close by and we decided to give it a try - glad we did. They have a well anointed bar, a nice patio and plenty of seating in general. Nice beer menu on draft and a good mix of alcohol. Plenty if parking in front and service is good and quick. It was afternoon time so we hung around for a while without being bothered - so that was nice too Overall a nice relaxed place - recommend for a casual night or evening experience. ”
“ I came in randomly because I was in the area. Indoor and outdoor seating. Full bar but a lot of beer on tap. Cheese steak and onion rings. So I don't work too far from here so I decide to stop in. It's a lot bigger than you would think on the inside and I do have spaces on the outside as far as the patio goes so there really is a lot of seating there. You can definitely take a larger party here and be comfortable. Soon as I walked in they stop me to my table, but as if it wants it at the bar so they at least gave me the option. They were for the friendly and they explain the menu to me and their favorites when I said out so I thought that was really cool as far as customer service goes. It's not a full bar like as in a club style setting, but they have enough liquor if you need alcohol. But they have a lot of beer taps they are so if you are a beer drinker, this may be more your bag. On my first trip there I got a cheese steak and onion rings. Just wanted to see if they could do the basic, and I wasn't unhappy at all. On The next trip there I ended up getting a chicken cheesesteak and some cheese bread. The regular cheese steak, which I got was 10 in, was very good and very flavorful. You didn't need to do a whole lot to it, because it came already good to go. The bread was warm and a meat was hot. The onion rings the first time I went were really really good. I dip them in their gold barbecue sauce and it was damn good. The next time and when I got the chicken cheesesteak in this one was good but the bread kind of took it down a little bit. The bread at the bottom was falling apart for the most part so you couldn't even have it as a hoagie type sandwich anymore. I ended up having to get a fork and eat it out of the tray because it wouldn't stay in the bread anymore. I don't know if it had been sitting longer than needed, but it had the feeling that the meat soaked through the bread. But I will say that chicken was damn good though. The chicken was flavored really well even though it wasn't in a sandwich, it really got me together. Because I don't work too far I would probably still go to the Matt Italian. Their prices are decent, and the food is something that'll definitely keep you full and you won't be hungry! ”
“ While in town recently, I placed a pick up order for some sandwiches and tenders. I ordered the sausage and pepper sandwich, it was delicious! I wish the bread was a little more sturdy to support the saucy peppers and sausage. My husband got the tenders and they were yummy! My sister and her husband. Split a large Italian sub which they both enjoyed. The sandwiches came with chips and pickle. ”
